NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was arrested Friday in connection to a stolen vehicle investigation.Around 1:20 p.m., a North Greenbush police officer saw a vehicle that had been reported as stolen parked at 10 West Sand Lake Rd. Police saw Jose Gonzalez, of Troy, leave the house and get into the vehicle. He fled into the house as police approached but was quickly arrested. He was arraigned in North Greenbush Town Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail. ST. LOUIS - An accused interstate shooter is free tonight after a judge dismissed her case over repeated delays. Only FOX 2 was in the courtroom for the major development.Bernice Thomas was charged with shooting at someone on Interstate 70 in St. Louis five years ago. During repeated trial delays, police say her son, Deshawn Thomas, was captured on video executing a homeless man. Her son still faces the murder charge, but Bernice Thomas is now free to go, because of a failure to prosecute.The judge dismissed the I-70 shooting case without prejudice, which means it can be refiled, but there’s uncertainty about whether it will be. The case was scheduled for a bench trial Friday, and there was no sign any witness showed up. ST. ANN, Mo. - A local nonprofit is helping women improve their spiritual and mental health. Reprieve Spiritual is hosting an event called "Sis Be Still!" in St. Ann. It's designed to help women deal effectively with life's pressures and connect with other women. Attendees are also working on their spiritual journey. Precious Whitener, an author and inspirational speaker, is leading the event. She says it's important for women to set aside time for themselves. A suspect remains at large after allegedly robbing a woman near a Glendora hiking trail.Officers responded to reports of a robbery near the Colby Trail in the area of Glendora Mountain Road and Big Dalton Canyon Road around 7 a.m.The victim, a female hiker, told Glendora police she was robbed at knifepoint by a male suspect. The suspect then fled the scene before police arrived.Ground crews along with air units from Pasadena Police Department searched the area, but were not able to locate the robber.The suspect is described as a white male standing around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a blonde/gray beard. He was last seen wearing a dirty white t-shirt, jean shorts and a black hat.Based on the victim’s description, investigators believe the suspect could be a transient.No further details were released as the incident remains under investigation.Anyone who spots the suspect is advised to avoid any contact and call 911 immediately. PALO ALTO — A Caltrain fatally hit a pedestrian Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, officials said.The collision, which involved southbound train No. 126, was reported around 5:40 p.m. at Stanford Station, Caltrain spokesperson Mahmoud Abunie said in an email.The Churchill Avenue crossing was closed as a result of the fatality, the Palo Alto Police Department said in an advisory.No injuries were reported among the train’s 150 passengers.The fatality is the commuter rail line’s fifth of the year, Abunie said. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the pedestrian’s identity once it is confirmed and their next of kin is notified.Train service was temporarily halted in the area. (KRON) -- An eight-year-old boy was injured in a freeway shooting Friday evening, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said. Two vehicles on the eastbound lanes of I-580 near Grand Avenue were shooting at each other around 6:23 p.m. Woman injured after freeway shooting in San Francisco The boy, who was in a separate uninvolved vehicle, was struck by gunfire, according to CHP. The child was taken to a nearby hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time. As of 8 p.m., the eastbound lanes of I-580 are shut down. There is no estimated time of reopening.Suspects are currently at large, and authorities have no descriptions to provide at this time.
