AUSTIN (KXAN) — A popular Texas state park will temporarily reopen to visitors this week ahead of its impending sale and permanent closure later this summer.Fairfield Lake State Park, about 70 miles east of Waco, was closed to the public at the end of February, after almost 50 years in operation.The land is not owned by the state. The current property owner, Vistra Energy, is in contract to sell the land to a Dallas-based developer, Todd Interests. That developer plans to turn the site into an exclusive gated community with multi-million dollar homes and a private golf course, according to the Dallas Morning News.The Parks and Wildlife Department was given a 120-day termination of lease notice on Feb. 13, meaning the state would have to vacate the property by June 13. Lawmakers last week urged the TPWD to consider reopening the park in the meantime. AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - Photos, live videos, and reels including iconic actor and comedian Will Ferrell flooded social media in the Amarillo area over the weekend as he and production crew members took in the sites while filming a currently-untitled documentary. SARATOGA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Sunday, three individuals were arrested following an investigation into drug trafficking in Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties. David T. Henderson, Hernandez J. Hayes, and Kristin M. Lamb were all arraigned in the Town of Halfmoon Court, for charges of criminal possession of cocaine with a controlled substance. As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on a vehicle that the suspects were traveling in on I-87. In total, police seized 465 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of fentanyl pills, and U.S. currency. NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On March 9, New York State Police arrested Mark J. Wallace Jr., 37, of New Scotland, following an investigation into a stolen vehicle. Wallace was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree. Police determined Wallace had stolen the vehicle and taken it to a scrap yard to sell. Wallace then falsified documents by claiming to be the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was then crushed. Wallace surrendered himself to State Police in Coxsackie. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The city of Glens Falls is under a snow emergency, with the region forecast to see 8-12 inches of snow between Monday night and Wednesday morning.
