A solar storm forecast for Thursday is expected to give skygazers in 17 American states a chance to glimpse the Northern Lights, the colorful sky show that happens when solar wind hits the atmosphere.Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis, are most often seen in Alaska, Canada and Scandinavia, but an 11-year solar cycle that’s expected to peak in 2024 is making the lights visible in places farther to the south. RENNSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A man in Rensselaer has been arrested as a result of an investigation into the death of a child, according to police. The man, Robert Fisher II, faces multiple charges. On July 7 at 7:20 a.m., Rensselaer police alongside the Rensselaer Fire Department and Mohawk Ambulance responded to 1552 Broadway for a report of an unresponsive 3-year-old girl. Upon arrival, EMS performed life saving measures before transporting the child to Albany Medical Center. Following further efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The victim's name will not be released at this time. ST. LOUIS - A parking lot attendant was robbed at gunpoint Friday while working around a concert at Busch Stadium. The robbery happened at a parking lot in the 700 block of South Broadway. No major injuries were reported from the situation, but the suspect took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspect found beaten and bloody in field, police involvement investigated Investigators say the victim, a 68-year-old man, was working while the suspect parked his car. The victim went to check on the driver and attempted to collect a payment. After that, the suspect got out of the car and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect demanded money and the victim complied. DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers juggled their roster before Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.Detroit activated outfielder Riley Greene from the injured list. Greene, who was sidelined since May 31 with a stress reaction in his left fibula, led the team in most offensive categories before the injury.The Tigers also activated pitcher Beau Brieske (elbow) from the 60-day injured list.
