The order was met with a dueling lawsuit out of Washington state to ensure the abortion pill remains accessible. Legislation could expand abortion pill providers The lawsuit coming out of Texas tells the FDA to go back to the drawing board and gives them a week to appeal the order. "This is completely unprecedented, and yet Texas has come up with this ruling that we are now taking it to the Court of Appeals and we really don’t know what is coming next," said Chelly Hegan, President and CEO of Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood. New budget extender signed as negotiations continue ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The New State Budget was originally due April 1st. A new budget extender has been passed and signed by Governor Hochul. This had to be done by Noon on Monday in order for state workers to continue to get paid. The Comptroller’s office said it assumes there will not be a delay in payroll at this point. The new budget extender does not have policy in it, something the governor told me Capitol Correspondent Jamie DeLine on Saturday would be the case. When asked if she knew a time timeframe in which the budget would be finalized, Hochul said. "We’re looking at another extender to give us some more time because even when a decision is made, we’ve all come together— it will take a number of days after that because it takes five hours to debate each of the bills, there might be seven bills. There is still a timeframe even when there is an agreement. So it’s going to take a little while, but I feel confident that we are making progress, so that is a good thing. The gov...

Kiszla vs. Durando: Are the Avalanche ready to make another Stanley Cup run?

Kiszla vs. Durando: Are the Avalanche ready to make another Stanley Cup run? Kiz: Well, after Nathan MacKinnon and the Avs barnstormed through California, they not only control their destiny, but have every reason to believe that winning the Central Division is within their grasp. A month ago, I would’ve said it was iffy to project this edition of the Avalanche to win even a single round in the NHL playoffs. But now? The outlook is much sunnier. What’s a realistic definition of success for Colorado, with the postseason now just around the corner?Durando: The team with the best record in the West since mid-January should define success as winning the West. The Avs clearly have the firepower to do it again, especially in a conference widely considered to be the weaker of the two. I’ll say this, though: For as much flak as the West has taken since the trade deadline, there are several teams that decided to heat up at the right time. I’m both more impressed by the Avalanche’s direction than I was a month ago and more convinced that ...
